The Ferney Valley conservation area protects a native forest where the Mauritius kestrel, once the rarest bird in the world, was saved. Guided walks (or a 4×4 tour) explain endemic plants, and around midday the rangers feed the kestrels, which swoop down right in front of you.

A great pairing with Lion Mountain or Mahébourg.
