The present St Louis Cathedral dates from 1932, but the site has held a church since the French period (the first dated from the 1750s and was destroyed by cyclones). The pale facade faces the Place du CathΓ©drale with its fountain; next door is the colonial bishop's palace. A calm stop in the busy capital.
