At the far end of the Champ de Mars racecourse stands the tomb of the Comte de Malartic, governor of Île de France who died in 1800, a white obelisk surrounded by the mountains around Port Louis. The racecourse also has a statue of King Edward VII. Worth a look if you come for the races.
