Blue Bay: snorkelling from the shore
Swim out from Blue Bay public beach to the edge of the marine park's coral garden, for free and at your own pace.
The famous coral garden of Blue Bay Marine Park starts a few hundred metres from the public beach. Good swimmers can snorkel out from the sand to the first coral heads, where the water is shallow and full of fish; the richest part (and the big brain coral) is further out, where the glass-bottom boats go.
It's a lovely free alternative or complement to the boat trip. Fishing and collecting are forbidden in the park.
