The lagoon off La Preneuse and Black River is less visited than Flic en Flac or Blue Bay, and its corals are in good condition. Local boatmen from La Preneuse beach and the Black River jetties take you out to the best patches inside the reef, where you can see giant parrotfish, humphead wrasse, angelfish and sometimes turtles.

Often combined with the early-morning dolphin trips: ask for a longer snorkel stop on the way back.
